Yes, CrossFit Is for Beginners

CrossFit can look intense. People lifting heavy weights, doing gymnastic movements, and flying through workouts like they’ve been training for years. That can be intimidating. But here’s the truth: CrossFit is built to meet you where you are.

At OTAC, every workout has three levels. Level 1 is the most beginner friendly. Level 3 is the most advanced. You start at the level that works for you, and then we scale from there.

You Do Not Need to Get in Shape First

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that you need to be fit before you try CrossFit. That is not how this works.You do not need to know how to do a pullup. You do not need to know what a wall walk is. You do not need to keep up with anyone.

We scale everything. If pullups are too hard, we use bands. If bands are still too much, we modify further. Jumping pullups, ring rows, or other progressions. We find what works for your body right now. We do the same for box jumps, wall walks, and every other movement. Box too high? We bring it down. Jumping not safe? Step up instead.

Proper form comes first. Always.

Modifying Does Not Mean You Are Behind

Scaling does not mean less effort. It means smart training. Trying to do too much too soon is how people get hurt or discouraged. That is not what we want for you.

Your first few weeks will feel better and be more fun if you listen to your body and modify when needed. Our coaches will still push you, but they will push you at the right level for you.

You Are Not on Your Own

If something feels off, we change it. Our coaches are here to guide you. You will never be left guessing, and if you are later in life and just getting started, we have something for you too.

Our Legends program is designed for adults 55 and up. It focuses on building strength, confidence, and movement that feels good. No pressure. Just progress.

CrossFit Is for Anyone Ready to Start

CrossFit is not just for athletes. It is for busy parents. It is for people getting back into fitness. It is for people who have never been in a gym before. You do not have to prove anything when you walk through the door. You just have to show up.
